We are extremely confident that no other specialist kit car producer can boast a better list of safety specifications than are present on our Sumo.
Driver Comfort
The cockpit of the Sumo is much larger than one would expect in such a car, probably larger than any other similar car. The seats are very comfortable and are available in either leather or vinyl.
Controls are all easily operable with good foot pedal spacing and ideal gear shift position. The electrical controls for the lamps, windscreen wipers, horn, etc are all mounted on the steering column for comfort and ease of operation. visibility in the sumo is superb, giving a good view of the road in all directions. Even drivers up to 6'6" (2m) tall will find the standard Sumo very comfortable.
Dash and Panache
Out on the road it is easy to see why the Sumo is so popular. Indeed, it is difficult to go anywhere without drawing admiring glances and the envious gaze of other road users and pedestrians. The rumbling exhaust, comfortable driving position and that feeling of being as one with the car, invites the open roads. The power to weight ratio in such a light car is enormous, allowing excellent acceleration from the lights. The Sumo's well balanced and positive handling characteristics provide the driver with the confidence of complete control. Driving is fun once again.
Practicality
The Sumo is equally at home in town. It's light responsive steering, excellent visibility and tight lock make it extremely easy to park. It has a large boot capable of holding all the luggage for a weekend away. For those winter days we supply an excellent set of wet weather equipment, comprising hood, frame and side windows to keep the elements at bay. The heater and demisters work very efficiently to keep the occupants cosy and warm.
Quality Kit
The Sumo is built from a very high quality kit. Comprising a very tough fibre glass body which is assembled on an extremely durable, long lasting, steel chassis, built like they used to build them. We can supply your chassis galvanised so that it will last for a very long time and resist all the efforts of our British weather.
The chassis is JIG assembled and MIG welded by craftsmen. The body is hand-laminated with layers of fibreg lass impregnated with polyester resin, resulting in a very strong structure which is not degraded by water or road salt, and with a high quality gel-coat surface ready for keying and painting. Alternatively, it can be supplied in a self coloured gelcoat finish. The bonnet, boot and doors are all supplied double skinned for maximum strength.
Mechanical Basis
Ford components form the mechanical basis of the Sumo. They are reliable in operation, inexpensive to purchase and easy to repair and maintain. The easiest and cheapest method of obtaining a complete set of mechanical parts is to take them from a "donor car". Pilgrim have selected the Ford Sierra or the Ford Granada Mk3 as the donor car for the Sumo. There are thousands of these cars on the road with rotten bodies but in excellent mechanical condition. Their perfectly sound mechanical parts (engine, gearbox, axles, suspension, wiring loom, pedal box, steering column, etc) are serviced, cleaned and repainted as necessary prior to use in the Sumo. Full details are in the assembly manual. Engine choice includes all those fitted to the donor. For those requiring shattering performance, powerful engines from Rover, Ford or Chevrolet may be employed.
Jeg anbefaler å kjøpe denne DVDen som jeg syntes var topp for bilinteresserte!!!
